I kept my distance from potential clients. I never met them in person, I would always keep a few layers of middlemen and codes between the people who had both gold and a someone they wanted dead, and myself, who was willing to ensure one in exchange for the other.

I didn’t need motivations, or justifications, just a target and the location of where my gold was being kept. So when I got the location of a large chest of gold and ‘The King’s Woman’, I took the (big) job.

The Queen should have clarified she meant his mistress, though…
