Just A Kiss

There have been more passionate kisses, kisses that couldn’t be put on paper without it being set ablaze.

There have been more important kisses, kisses that ruined lives, set about wars, whole civilisations dying over them.

There have been more prolonged kisses, given the average length of a kiss, this was very much on the short side.

Almost every other kiss in human history was ‘better’, on some level, than this brief, passionless peck on the lips.

But it was his first, so it was important to him.

And it was her last, so it was doubly important to her.
